Something New
Allow me to introduce you to the
new Trial.
You may not have recognized AAJ’s flagship magazine
when it first arrived on your
desk this month. From cover to cover,
this issue looks dramatically di erent:
You’ll find a bold new logo, more art and
graphics, new layouts, and more readable type. We’ve given the magazine a
more contemporary look that better
reflects today’s AAJ and the important
work you do.
But don’t worry, we haven’t changed
the substance: Trial still features all the
valuable, practice-oriented content you
rely on. As always in May, this issue
features articles on medical negligence
litigation—from how to prepare your
medical expert to what happens when
doctors and nurses fail to communicate
e ectively—as well as regular columns on
the Supreme Court, recent verdicts and
settlements, and more.
We’ve consolidated the “Verdicts
and Settlements” section near the front
of the magazine, where you can scan it
quickly for the case-specific information
you need to help you evaluate your own
clients’ claims.
Just beyond the feature articles, AAJ
news is at your fingertips in “Justice in
Motion.” We’ve added a new “Members
in Motion” feature to this section, where
we will periodically profile a member
who has made a di erence by becoming involved in charitable or community outreach work. This month, you’ll
meet Gary Green of Little Rock, whose
involvement with Mothers Against
Drunk Driving emerged from his work
representing victims of alcohol-related
accidents. If you or a member you know
has a story to share about community
involvement, please write to us at trial@
justice.org.
AAJ’s monthly magazine has always
been about you—what you do every day
in representing your clients, tracking
developments in the law, running your
law o ce, and somehow managing to
have a life. In its new form, that’s what
Trial is still about.
We hope you like what you see on
these pages and in future issues. Please
let us know what you think: Write to us
at trial@justice.org.
